Mahoneys’ Partner Antony Harrison recently joined other industry experts to discuss what legal, accounting, insurance and operational requirements need to be considered when starting a private practice.
The webinar – organised by The Professional Medical Practice (PMP) and The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) – was well received with over 580 physicians registered to hear from Antony, Julie O’Reilly and Arash Zamansani (William Buck), Chris Mariani (Medical and General Risk Solutions) and Dr Patrick Coleman.
Specifically, Antony covered some of the important legal issues that need to be considered, including:
- the importance of protecting personal assets from business risks;
- the interplay between asset protection and estate planning; and
- the types of legal agreements that might arise in the course of setting up, owning and operating a private practice.
A copy of the webinar – titled “Welcome to private practice”, date 9 November – can be found here.
A big thank you to PMP, RACP, Tracey Handley Suzanne Stack, Hannah Parker for arranging this important webinar.
